At the close of the first full week of a new year, I thought about how, on New Year’s Day, my husband and I started cleaning out the clutter in our home. After taking down the Christmas decorations, we simply felt like it was a good time to get rid of stuff we haven’t used in years (cabinets and closets). It was liberating and hard work, but well worth it.
It’s a new year, and one of the best ways to start over is to clean away the clutter! Make up your mind to let go of what and who has been taking up good space in your life.
If you realize that relationships have been holding you back or causing stagnation physically, emotionally or mentally, pray to God for guidance and strength to change and move forward.
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14)
“You can’t reach for anything new, if your hands are full of yesterday’s junk”.
