During this Holiday season, I would like to remind you of the power you have, when we take a stand by taking action, and using our voices for the good of society, our community, our state, and our nation. If you haven’t been hiding under a rock, you have no doubt seen or heard of the disturbing images on television, social media, or the news concerning the police officer involved brutality and deaths of black men! Although we don’t know all the details of the events surrounding the deaths of those men and young men, we all know there seems to be a problem in our society. Call it racism, inequality or injustice, but definitely call it what it is, Wrong!
Yesterday, I joined my church family and thousands of other churches and organizations all over the country to protest the recent injustices of police involved deaths and the lack of indictments in the most recent cases, in a 3.5 mile peaceful prayer
The reality is, It could be a member of your family next, black or white! If it happened to your family, wouldn’t you want something to be done about it? Let’s stand together before it happens again, and let our voices be heard. Use your strength as a citizen, a parent, a person who is concerned for the future. Write your local government representatives, join in peaceful protests, and DEMAND change Now! We have power, if we would only use it. If we complain loud enough, long enough, and in large enough numbers, they have to hear us, and they will eventually make the changes which we as the church, the community, the family and concerned citizens demand for equality in the justice system and the safety of All people.
Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
“Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn”
Stand up! Speak up! Step up!
